Day 1:

Detail discussion on Elements of Graphic Design (with visual example)

Closely look at the great variety of lines, straight, curved, thick, thin, solid, and non-solid. Examine role of shapes in design including the psychology of shapes in logo design. Students will take a look at mass or visual weight of graphic and text elements, they will also understand the visual texture created with certain graphics techniques and also color symbolism and association.
Detail discussion on Principles of Graphic Design (with visual example)

Understanding of Symmetrical, radial, formal, and informal ways of arranging elements, rule of thirds, Proximity, Alignment, Repetition, Contrast and White Space.
Introduction to major Tools (will continue on 2nd day)
Photoshop, Illustrator and In-design’s interface their tools and how do they work.
