Job Description / Responsibility
The Cardiothoraic and Intensive Care Unit (CTICU) is currently run by full time trained intensivists and trainees will gain exceptional experience in all areas of cardiac intensive care medicine as well as management, audit and research. You will have exposure to complex cardiothoracic and vascular surgeries, transesophageal echocardiography [TEE] and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation [ECMO]. Motivated trainees have excellent opportunities to be involved in research and publications. Our fellowship training program uses hands-on clinical experience, state of the art simulation training, didactic lectures, and tutorials, with a focus on intensive care and cardiovascular medicine to ensure trainee develop the breadth of knowledge and skill needed to practice cardiac intensive care medicine. Fellows are expected to participate in teaching ward rounds twice a day, weekly tutorials in the ICU and monthly mortality and morbidity meetings. Trainees will be awarded the Fellowship in Cardiothoracic Critical Care by the National University Hospital upon successful completion of the fellowship program.
As a Clinical Fellow, the doctor will be allowed to be involved in patient care and make entries in patients` case note, communicate care plans to patients and fellow healthcare professionals, and perform procedures under directsupervision or Level 1 supervision.

Educational Requirements
Interested candidates must possess a post-graduate Medical Degree, and will need to meet criteria for registration with the Singapore Medical Council. Candidates with MRCP, MRCS, FCPS, FRCS etc. post-graduation degree from UK, USA, Canada or Australia will be preferred. The candidate must have a minimum of 2 years postgraduate experience, including but not limited to experience and training in anaesthesia and/or intensive care medicine. Candidates with fellowship experience in cardiac anesthesiology or critical care are preferred and all applicants must be proficient in the English language.

The doctor should be in active clinical practice for the 3 years preceding the application for medical registration.
The doctor must have:
a) A basic medical degree from an accredited medical university or medical school;.
b) Passed the relevant national licensing examination in the country of conferment of basic degree, where applicable;
c) Evidence of at least 12 months housemanship / internship with a certificate of satisfactory completion of housemanship or equivalent;
d) Been registered as a medical practitioner in the country where he is currently practising;
e) Been certified to be of good standing by the Medical Council or the relevant national authority.
f) Have a minimum of 3 years of working experience as a medical officer (or equivalent);
g) Fulfil English Language requirements of SMC if the medium of instruction for the basic medical qualification is not in English;
h) Preferably have obtained a postgraduate diploma or degree in his country or overseas;

Salary Range
TK.160000 - 180000
