LED Shoelaces

Teflon coated optic fibers laces with coloured LEDs with a variety of modes. Is there any way to make something so basic and simple, into a more nerdiest, complex use of today's technologies. The are pretty cool and would look good at any rave or in some fancy dance class but the true value is watching your kids run around in the dark with these on and giggle to their hearts content.
Each pack has two laces (enough for a pair of shoes), has a particular colour and turns off (dur), on, slow flash and fast flash.
