In my hand, I am holding a brand new solar charger / solar conversion kit, Luminous Solar Retrofit - Shine 2420 12/24 amp charger controller. Look at the packaging, it is looking very nice. In the picture, it has been shown that there is a LCD display. We will find more information about it later in the video. Let’s look at Key Features- It converts normal inverter into solar inverter. That means, if you are leaving in a home having normal inverter battery and you want to convert into solar, then you must purchase this device. Without this, you cannot upgrade your normal inverter into solar system. After that it talks about automatic selection of 12/24V battery system, generally in our homes, we use either single (12V) or double (24V) Battery system. This device works only with single (12V) and double (24V) battery system. If your home or office has 4 battery inverter system, in that case, this device will not work, because it supports, 12 and 24 V battery system. This device gives priority to solar so that maximum time it should charge battery from solar panel to save electricity bill. It supports 400 watts of solar panel with single battery and 800 watts of solar panel with double battery system. It means, you should not connect more than 400 watts of solar panel on 12V system and you should not connect more than 800 watts of panel on 24 V system. Now, let’s look at MRP sticker, 20 amps is the rating of this product, it has been made in September 2017, and the MRP is Rs. 2,995. This is a made in India product, Made in Sholan, Himachal Pradesh. Let’s look at product in detail and after that we will get into details of technical specifications, There are two holes given here, i.e. it is a wall mounted device which can be mounted on the wall like this. There are three switches given with this, if you are using flat plate battery then keep the switch on Flat plate side, and if you are using Tubular technology battery then keep it towards Tubular side. There are two more switches given with this, second switch of charger will only work if the first is kept on manual. If you want that, your battery should only charge form Solar then keep the first switch on manual mode and second switch on 100% solar. If you want your battery to be charged with solar panel and Electricity both, in that case, keep second switch on charger mode. If you want, the battery to be charged only from solar then keep manual mode on and second switch on 100% Solar. If you want the device to be operated as it has been originally designed by manufacturer in that case, keep auto mode on. The device comes with 6 amp socket in which inverter plug will be connected. The black wire shown in this image is mains input wire, so you will connect this wire with mains. In the back side of the product, there is space provided for connecting battery, panels with solar conversion kit device. You can see here, 400 Watts panel could be connected with 12V system and maximum of 800 watts of panel can be connected with 24 Volt systems. There will be two wires coming from solar panels. Positive and negative loom solar, charge controller.
