he Toyota Crown has survived as a mid-sized sedan in the Japanese market since 1955. For a while, it was available as a coupe and even a wagon, and stripped down versions are used by taxi companies across Japan. Yet, despite its popularity, very few people outside of Japan know about it, something we want to change today, be telling you about the latest generation.

This is the 14th generation of the Crown, which is going to be offered both as the Crown Royal and Crown Athlete, both with slightly different looks. The main between the two is that the Royal features Mercedes-like headlights and Audi-like bar grille, while the sportier Athlete has Mesh and prominent fog lights.

Both are offered with a choice of three powertrains, the base 2.5-liter V6 with 200 HP (203 PS)
