The Australian Department of Immigration Border Protection (DIBP) brought about major migration policy and regulatory reform that commenced on 1st July, 2012.

The basic eligibility requirement has remained same, so if you were previously eligible for migration, you will likely remain eligible. In fact from July 2012 additional occupations were listed and the pass mark was reduced to 60 points, so obviously opportunities have increased.

Because of significant technical changes that have come into effect, from a visa applicant's perspective, it will be sensible if your case is handled by a Registered Australian Migration Agent Lawyer.

WHAT WOULD BE THE IELTS REQUIREMENT?

The minimum IELTS requirement is 6.0 in each of the four components. For some applicants who can't achieve the pass mark (60) with the threshold requirement, they would require a higher IELTS score.
